But after my father’s retirement day, these turbans, despite their deep significance, needed a place to go. My father, ready to part with them, wanted a way to let them go gracefully. "

"The Sahjeevan Project, named after the Hindi word for "symbiotic association," stands as a testament to the beautiful collaboration between designer and maker. This initiative, led by Bowstring Handmade, seeks to nurture and empower artisans by creating an ecosystem where creative vision and craftsmanship thrive side by side, each elevating the other. In 2023, we embarked on the first pilot of this project in Mundra, Kutch, with an extraordinary artist and 6th-generation master craftsman: Shakil Ahmed. "
